| Four
powerful woman artists, who share their passion of painting,
will be celebrated with an opening reception on September
6th at Spring Bull Gallery. Danna Brackenbury, Paula
Dewell, Johanna McKenzie and Jane Puerini have come
together to explore the dynamics of painting.
Danna
Brackenbury, with a BA from UMN, took to "en plein
aire" painting after a career in the commercial
art world . She has now challenged herself to purse
capturing in paint the spirt of Nature. Paula Dewell,
a URI graduate and a high school art educator for over
25 years, is now devoting her time and passion to her
own painting. She still teaches on a part time bases
and is represented by several galleries in the west
bay area. Johanna McKenzie, an active member of Spring
Bull Gallery, began her art career as a sculptor but
soon turn to capturing nature in encaustics as well
as oil on copper and oil on panel. The fourth member
of this group Jane Puerini began her "love affair"
with still life many years ago when challenged by a
college professor to produce one over a semester break.
She is still striving to render her subject matter faithfully
with brushwork and paint texture.
Paint4
brings these compounding talents of four very talented
women to Spring Bull Gallery for the month of September.
The public is cordially invited to the opening reception
