the Portsmouth Arts Guild's "Portraits and Figures: Here's
Looking at You" exhibit. The exhibit runs through June 29.
Paola Mangiacapra's watercolor titled "Generations"
received an Honorable Mention in the Art League of Rhode Island
Second Associate Members' Exhibit at Gallery 297, Bristol, RI.
Dora Atwater Millikin will have a solo exhibition
at the Newport Art Museum, 76 Bellevue Avenue, Newport. The exhibition
titled Dora Atwater Millikin: Geometry of Place, will run from June
7 - August 10, 2008 with an opening reception on Thursday, June
12.
Johanna MacKenzie has an upcoming exhibit in
the Maxwell Mays Gallery at the Providence Art Club May 18-June
6, 2008. Opening reception is Sunday, May 18, 2-4 p.m.

Artists and students designed and hand painted donated Timberland
boots. The artists' hand painted boots will be auctioned for scholarship

Paola Mangiacapra's painting"The Fortune Teller"
was accepted into the Northeast Watercolor Society's 31 Annual International
Exhibition and her painting “The Gardener” was accepted
into the Newport Art Museum’s 2008 Members’ Show and
was awarded an Honorable Mention in the watercolor category. Two
of Paola's paintings were accepted in two successive shows at Gallery
297, Bristol, RI in Jan. and Feb. in 2008. Her “Sirkeci Terminal”
captured 3rd place in the Rhode Island Watercolor Society’s
open juried show in Feb. 2008.
Richard Grosvenor and Joan Boghossian also had work
accepted into Newport Art Museum's 2008 Member Show.
Richard Grosvenor will be the honoree of Newport Art Museum's
"A Summer Soirée" on Saturday, July 12, 2008. This
gala evening will honor Richard, his art and achievements.
Ken MacDonald was awarded the Carl & Jane Lynge Prize
for his "Made in the USA" metal tool sculpture at the
New Haven Paint & Clay Club's 107th Annual Juried Exhibit, March
16 - April 6. Over 330 entries were submitted and only 95 were accepted
to the exhibit.
