Ken MacDonald has received two recent awards: J.Gaultieri prize at the Westerly Artists Cooperative 2010 Open Regional Show, and the Florence B. Kane award from the Providence Art Clubs' 2010 Members' Exhibit.

Kendra Ferreira's colored pencil piece "Patti's New Bowl" was chosen as a finalist in the Artists' Magazine 27th Annual Art Competition in the "still life and floral" category. Her name will be included in the December 2010 issue. Kendra's colored pencil drawing "Samantha" has been accepted into Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club's 114th Annual Open Juried Exhibition at the National Arts Club in New York City, October 5-29, 2010.

Paola Mangiacapra is part of a summer art show titled "South County Treasures" at the Light Works Studio, River's Edge Plaza, 404 Main Street, Wakefield, RI. The exhibit opens Thursday, July 8, 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit is open for visitors on Fridays in July from 6 to 9 p.m. Paola and the exhibit are also featured in the Arts & Living of the South County Independent's feature article "Watercolorist's exhibit finds beauty in familiar scenes". Dora Atwater Millikin and Johanna McKenzie are both part of the South Coast Artists Open Studio Tour Saturday and Sunday, July 17 & 18 and August 21 & 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information see www.southcoastartists.org.

Bettie Sarantos is a contributing artist at the Newport Art Museum's "The Japan Craze" exhibit. "The Japan Craze" features paintings, prints, books and decorative objects with a Rhode Island connection that suggest the Japanese influence, as well as works of Japanese origin, or that reflect Japonism and were collected by Rhode Islanders. The exhibit runs through October 17, 2010.

Bettie Sarantos watercolor painting of Newport Harbor has been chosen for the cover of the book "The Newport Girls, A Memoir" written by Elaine Colton.
