Johanna Mckenzie has won the For Art's Sake Gallery
and Studio Award" for oil painting at the115 th Catharine Lorillard
Wolfe Art Club Open Juried Show hosted by the National Arts Club
, NYC, NY. This is the third award she has won at the CLWAC annual
juried shows at the National Arts Club. In 2008, she won the Medal
of Honor and in 2003 she won the Katherine Lovell Memorial Award.
Kendra Ferreira won the Martin Hannon Memorial
Award at the Salmagundi Club Annual Fall Auction and Exhibition
in NYC for her colored pencil piece "Round About".
Ken MacDonald received the Providence Art Club Sculpture
Award for a stainless steel sculpture titled "Family"
in the Providence Art Club Summer Member Exhibit. Ken also had a
8 foot tall aluminum sculpture titled "Measuring Up" recently
installed in the Providence Art Club garden patio area.
Gail Armstrong received the Ruth Findley Award for her
watercolor and Dan Reed received an honorable mention for
his glass wall hanging Dan Reed Honorable Mention in the Providence
Art Club Summer Member Exhibit.
Gail Armstrong, Joan Boghossian, Craig Masten, Kendra Ferreira
have work accepted into Mystic Art Center 55th Regional Juried Exhibition
through September 24
Joan Boghossian won second prize in Watercolor and Kendra
Ferreira won first prize in Graphics/Mixed Media categories
for their work in the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club spring
member exhibit in NYC.
Kendra Ferreira won the President's Award in the Salmagundi
Club's spring President's Choice Exhibit for Graphics and Photography.
Johanna McKenzie will be exhibiting her paintings in oil
and wool at the Newport Art Museum from November 5, 2011 - January
8, 2012. Opening reception is Friday, November 4th from 5-7 p.m.

Paola Mangiacapra's painting "Istanbul Trio"
is hanging in the Atrium Gallery, 1 Capitol Hill, Providence as
part of the RI State Council on the Arts 1st Annual Creative Impact
Series Art Exhibit. Show runs Aug. 8th thru Sept. 30, 2011. Reception
Sept. 22nd 6-8:30PM. Paola's "News Stand" was accepted
for the RI Watercolor Society's "Artist Choice Open Juried
Show" which is currently hanging in their gallery at Slater
Park, Pawtucket until Sept. 15th. Her painting, "Crosby's Rigging
Shed" was accepted into the RIWS 18th Annual National Show
from 10/9 to 11/3/2011. And her painting "Shoe Shine"
will hang as part of the Northeast Watercolor Society's 35th Annual
International Open Exhibition at the Kent (CT) Art Association Gallery
from 10/23 - 11/6/2011.
